Term 3 / Week 3 ; Effects of Preventive Measures on Pupils

Hi everyone,

Since we returned to school two weeks ago, we had to take our temperature twice a day. Some of the pupils could not return to school because they were on leave of absence. Our remedial, CCA and other activities have been cancelled or postponed. In this week's reflection, I would like you to discuss how all these have affected you. I have listed some questions below to help you with your reflection:
  1. What do you think of the school's preventive measures for H1N1 such as temperature-taking, no assembly in the hall, cancellation of remedial lessons, CCA and other activities?
  2. Which activities have affected you?
  3. Do you think the school is less interesting now? Why?
  4. Are you relationship with your friends and teachers affected? If 'yes', in what way/s?
  5. What do you do with the extra time you have now?
  6. Are you activities outside school affected?

I hope to read your reflection soon.

Bye!

Term 2/ Week 10

Hi Everyone,
This will be the last blog for the term. Do remember to bring your thermometers to school on Monday. We are still in the midst of Influenza A H1N1 . Although we have no known cases in Singapore, we should take the necessary precautions and always be ready.
How much do you understand about this virus? For this week, I would like you to reflect on this topic.
To help you, I will list some questions as usual:
1. What is Influenza A H1N1?
2. How does it spread?
3. Which countries in Asia have people with Influenza A H1N1?
4. Do you think the taking of temperature is effective in preventing Influenza A H1N1? Why?
5. What other preventive measures are being taken to stop the spread of this disease in Singapore?
6. What are you doing to prevent the spread of Influenza A H1N1 disease?

I would like to commend Fion and Caroline for giving their comments/reflections last week on exam.

Love to read your comments this week.
Cheers,

Term 2/Week 6 Exam Preparation

Hi Sportyones,

How prepared are you for the exam that is just around the corner. If you have not been paying attention in class and doing your work consistently, well there is still time to pull up your socks. Below is an extract from a MOE phamplet that tells you what to do. Read and reflect on it.

Before exams
1.Develop good study habits
Pay attention during lessons.
Hand in your homework on time.
Revise your work daily.
Ask your teacher if you don’t understand.

2.Sleep, eat, exercise, drink plenty of water
A healthy body makes for an alert mind.

3.Study smart
Know the exam format.
Prepare a study time-table and follow it.
Make time for rest and play in between study.
If you feel too stressed, talk to your teacher, school counsellor or parents.

During exams
1.Stay calm and concentrate
Read all instructions carefully.
Read all questions before you start.
Do the easy questions first. Write neatly.
Check all your answers before handing in your paper.

2.Believe in yourself and do your best

Cheers,
Ms Lee
